Day 7: Tzfat and Disco Boat

Today, the MBI group visited the historic city of Tzfat. They learned that the city has existed for hundreds of years on mountain tops in the upper Galilee and was the home for generations of scholars studying Jewish mysticism and Kabbala. The MBI chanichimot got a chance to walk around the old city through its stone walkways and corridors, and then stopped for a bit in a park overlooking the beautiful views. They also went and visited a few of the old synagogues which are beautifully decorated by followers of different rabbis who lived there hundreds of years ago. Many of these synagogues are Spanish in style, as Kabbala was a product of the Spanish Jewish community.

The chanichimot also had pizur lunch in Tzfat, allowing them to walk around and choose where to go and what to buy for lunch. Afterwards, the group set sail on a fun boat ride, colloquially known to as 'Disco Boat' to all of the MBI participants! The chanichimot got to watch the sunset while having a dance party to playlists that they created. They then headed to the hostel, Ohalo, which is located along the Kinneret's shores and offers beautiful views! After playing a big game of capture the flag and eating dinner, they called it a night. Tomorrow, the group will visit Hatzar Kinneret, a courtyard that is a part of the training farm where the social ideas for kvutza and kibbutzim originated.
