Day 15: Hadracha Seminar Continues

The MBI chanichimot continued with their Hadracha Seminar today. Unfortunately, it was an extremely hot day with a high of about 104°F (40°C), so most of the programming took place indoors in air conditioning.

One of the activities they took part in was a ken festival. They split into four groups, each of which was responsible for planning and running a ken event they might have throughout the year. For the carnival, each group had about 15 minutes to run their event for everyone else!

Next, it was time for the tekes (ceremony) to mark the end of the seminar. While Toviah read each chanichol's name to the front, Jess conferred upon them special certificates and tote bags. It was very cute! Rachel, one of the madrichot, as well as two of the chanichimot, gave speeches. The MBI tzevet took photos of almost every single person, which you can see if you scroll down below! They then headed to Nordiya, where they will spend the next few nights.

When they got to Nordiya, they ate dinner and participated in a fun karaoke night, singing along to some popular classics such as One Direction, Katy Perry, Frozen, and more!

Tomorrow they'll head to Givat Haviva, an institute and seminar center in the Wadi Ara area where they will learn about peace and conflict. We are hoping that we'll be able to go to Givat Haviva without trouble. However, due to the recent heat wave, which caused some brush fires to break out in the area today, we'll need to wait to determine if it will be safe. I'll be sure to update should there be an itinerary change.
